MAKE BELIEVE! by ONE FASHION PLACE

Is your Style Based on You or on Make Believe?

Therein lies a secret ingredient of the Fashion Business...Fantasy!

Everyone wants to be bigger than life, feel the freedom of expression and feel like a million bucks. Fashion can deliver these feelings, but the clothes aren't magical, if you don't know who you are, it's just Make Believe.

With Fashion you can be a different person everyday. You can wear colors, textures, fabric and patterns to reflect your mood and attitude about yourself.

Glamour styling reflects a life of luxury, the good life they say. People recognizing certain name brands you wear and associating them with success or being well-to do, can deliver a glimmer of self-esteem, but if you don't really feel this way about yourself, it's just temporary, just Make Believe.

Yes, with Fashion we can be whomever we want to be, at least on the outside. So who are you today? Are you a follower, a servant, a person non-descript of your own unique personality, motivations and goals? If so the Fashion Industry will decide who you are (and you may not like it), they will command your presentation of yourself and thus the perception of who you are inside.

On the other side stands the person who knows who they are. They are comfortable and secure with most of the decisions they've made in their life, or at least at this point, they have figured out who they are, what they represent and what they want.

Now this person will don, wrap or embrace themselves with who they are, their style, instead of someone else's (Make Believe). This is hard for young people with no bank of experience yet, and sad for older ones who never figured it out.

The balance is to just be who you are, enjoy your creativity, artistry and how you see the world. Now just find the clothing that reflects that. Now of course there are times when we all want to stretch out a bit, and do something out of the ordinary for us. This adds a little lawry's seasoning salt to our flavor. Then be your own on personal Ebony Fashion Fair (it's coming back ya'll) or Vogue Magazine.

Go for it, just be sure it's fun and refreshing,
not overly offensive (for shock value), or just to impress someone...it won't come off right be-
cause it's not you. Like wearing the wrong size shoe. Never wish you were someone else, you're not, just be the best you!

As far as the word Believe, let's believe only in the things that are real, important and elevate the meaning in our lives. Treat yourself sometimes, you deserve it, and love those that add value to your life.

Fashion can be many things, but mostly it's represents a thread of how you feel about yourself. Once you know that and it's positive, you'll always look good.
