"FASHION STAR"
as reviewed by ONE FASHION PLACE!
So the New Kid on the Block is "Fashion Star"...the concept is awesome. It's every designers dream to have their Fashions/Designs seen, purchased and donned. Upgrade that dream to have millions of people see your artistry, and then to have it critiqued by Fashion Mentors and ultimately purchased by Major Houses on the spot.
As it that wasn't enough how about having it merchandised the very next day! That's crazy hot! OK, but there's one problem, what if all of this doesn't quite translate the way it sounds. Hmmm, OK so we'll give it another chance, but the Show was dry and glam-less.
The Mentors were one dimensional, the designers didn't really seem inspired, just nervous about feeling that their creativity wouldn't be confirmed by experts in the Industry and I know it's about the clothes, but the production just seemed kinda boring.
Shown is our Fav design pick from the Show...incidentally does anyone know where they are getting the Models from?
What did we like, the Buyers. They were straight to the point about whether to spend tens of thousands of dollars, and why or why not. Big tips for aspiring designers.
So now what? We think the show has a lifeline, if the products sell in the stores and especially online (helping to eliminate the costs of it being a in-store stock item).
Hopefully the producers will consider soft critiques, like ours and make a few adjustments towards finding the next Fashion Star...and maybe they can stop by ONE FASHION PLACE!
